Imagining thanksgiving

Imagine I am responsible for this years thanksgiving dinner.

This year I am making thanksgiving dinner with my family. As my mother whips out the ingredients and my cousin drugs out the pots, I begin to tell them what I plan on cooking. For dinner, there will be mounds of mashed potatoes with even bigger mounds of butter on top. There will be pernil with skin caramelized with seasonings. A rotisserie chicken about a foot thick and a foot wide. Mustard greens will be boiled in a pot along with peppers and ham. Oh the sweet smell of candy yams will envelope the kitchen. Pumpkin pie with be cooling down in the fridge as the peach cobbler will too. As thanksgiving dinner is complete, the family will gather around the table, say our grace, an begin to dig in the food we have prepared.

If only I was to actually create thanksgiving dinner, it would be really fantastic. Instead our dinner had much different foods and I wasn't apart of the cooking team. Even though my imaginary thanksgiving did not come true, I am not disappointed of the dinner that was made. For I am grateful that I even had food. I am grateful for every part of our thanksgiving. Hence, the meaning of thanksgiving day.

Faith

If I had to fight for something, or even die for something, I would fight for my faith. I would most definitely rick my life for my faith. I know I'm not perfect and I know I mess up, but i will not give up faith in myself or in my refuge to help me do better. My refuge ultimately is God. I do things that I know I am not suppose to, yet he forgives me and helps me to move on. God gives me faith that life would be much greater with him in it. I would fight for my faith because I am loyal to him who gives it to me; God. I always stand up for what I believe in. Even if it means handing my existence into the hands of the enemy in order to prove it. My faith is strong and will continue to grow stronger. The day my faith dies is the day I die with it.

Mi Favorito

One characteristic about myself that I especially admire is my cleverness. I appreciate this god given trait because it enables me to understand situations more clear than others. Being clever means that common sense and knowledge are my two best friends. There are several ways to be clever. Such as creating a battle tactic, quickly solving problems, completing a whole days work sooner than expected, or simply being persuasive. With cleverness comes strategy. Strategies that will be used for accomplishing a goal or goals, how you're gonna accomplish it, when you are, and where. This is my favorite character trait.

Musica

What is the number one thing people can relate to in any situation? Music of course. Music is a very important aspect of all life. From a crickets creek, to a humming beards flutter, from the banging of the drums, to the sound waves of the trumpet; music is everywhere!

When someone hears a certain song, their whole mood can change. Not for everyone but for most people. Music influences a lot of people in today's culture. An example is the rap songs about science, math, and other school subjects. Listening to the music students enjoy, about a school subject, secretly teaches the children about that subject. The children focus on the beat but eventually learn the words. And when they learn the words, they know how to complete a certain task in school. We all know that learning is a big part of life. This example shows that music makes learning fun!

A lot would argue that music does not effect the deaf, but indeed it does. No, they cannot hear the words, yet a musical tone creates a mood for the deaf community. For instance, if the beat is really fast and hard, the deaf boy/girl can infer it is an angry or sad song. If the musical tone is light and the base is really calm, they can infer the song is sweet and comforting. A deaf individual learns to use their other senses more often, right? So their way of listening to music is by feeling the speakers. Feeling the sound waves through the tips of their fingers. Feeling the beat.

This is why music is essential.
